I created an interactive, sonified logo for mathsciencemusic.org.
A project of MusEDLab/MusEDWorks:
“Herbie Hancock and the Theolonius Monk Institute engaged us to build mathsciencemusic.org for International Jazz Day (IJD). Produced in coordination with UNESCO, IJD brought together the innovations of many academic institutions around the country, exploring the intersections of math, science, and music.”
I collaborated with designer Diana Castro and had a special session with composer/sound designer Keith Patchel that helped inspire the sonic direction of this project. I focused on sound design and code. I modified the SnapSVG library and developed a process where we could easily go from Diana’s Adobe Illustrator files to a sonified animation. I open sourced an animated logo library (GitHub) with the goal of simplifying this process for likeminded projects.
